Guide to Assistive Technology to Support the Work of Parent Centers

This Guide to Assistive Technology (AT) was created for parent center professionals and family members to help them learn about effective AT practices, devices, and services. AT has great potential to help infants, toddlers, children, and youth with disabilities participate fully in daily routines; increase access to the general educational curriculum; improve their functional outcomes and educational results; and meet college- and career-ready standards. The guide includes the following sections: what is AT, legislation and advocacy, AT for birth to grade 12, AT for transition, finding and funding AT, glossaries, and a list of organizations for more information on AT. Each section contains links to relevant resources in the online CTD Library.
