Getting Started with Using PECS

PECS, or ‘Picture Exchange Communication System’ is a form of augmentative and alternative communication using pictures for teaching communication with children with complex disabilities. People using PECS are taught to approach another person and give them a picture of a desired item in exchange for that item.  This YouTube video with Dr. Joe McCleery helps you teach your first PECS lesson, providing people with little or no communication abilities to communicate using pictures.
