Open Standard for Visually Impaired People in Built Environments

The Open Standard from the London-based non-profit, WayFindr, provides guidelines for software developers and architects to make buildings easier to navegate for people with impaired vision. With this resource, venue owners can increase accessibility and therefore profitability, developers and designers can create navegation products to assist vision impaired people, and researchers can test the former groups' successes. This open standard exists because when individuals and organisations get behind a purposeful vision, solutions to what previously seemed like big challenges become attainable. There are 285 million vision impaired people living amongst us who deserve advanced technologies that allow them to go about their business in stride.
