2017 CEC Special Education Convention and Expo -- Presentation (April 21)

Accessibility and Accommodations: Addressing Challenges with Technology-Based State Assessments, presented by Kristin Ruedel, Ph.D. (Center on Technology and Disability) and Martha Thurlow Ph.D. (National Center on Educational Outcomes), will highlight challenges that states and districts have experienced in providing student accommodations when implementing technology-based assessments. Participants will learn about evidenced-based solutions for state and district leaders to address these challenges and ensure that students with disabilities have access to appropriate accommodations. Opportunities will be provided for participants to share their experiences, ask questions, and discuss effective strategies for aligning instructional and testing accommodations.

Presentation developed by the CTD SEA and LEA Technical Assistance Team, led by American Institutes for Research in collaboration with Martha Thurlow Ph.D., National Center on Educational Outcomes.
