2017 CEC Special Education Convention and Expo -- Presentation (April 19)

As mainstream technology tools have advanced to include many supports for students with disabilities, educators will be charged with maximizing the potential of these tools to serve the needs of all students. This session, Building Bridges and Breaking Down Silos: Leveraging AT and IT, presented by Alise Crossland (Center on Technology and Disability) and Jean Tower (Needham Public Schools, Massachusetts) will highlight success stories in breaking down silos between assistive and instructional technology and provide concrete strategies for leveraging technology to improve outcomes. Through the implementation of these strategies, school districts can improve collaboration and find ways to blend and braid together funding streams to ensure that technology initiatives address the needs of all students, including students with disabilities.

Presentation developed by the CTD SEA and LEA Technical Assistance Team, led by American Institutes for Research in collaboration with Jean Tower, Needham Public Schools.
