Better Tests, Fewer Barriers: Advances in Accessibility through PARCC and Smarter Balanced

Published by the Center for American Progress, this paper discusses progress made in state mandated tests (PARCC and Smarter Balanced) through the inclusion of accessibility features and use of universal design. The authors advocate for increased focus on accessibility and inter-operability to ensure proper access and accommodations in schools, and recommend better dissemination practices with test accessibility to families, schools, and stakeholders.
