Technology and Young Children in the Digital Age--A Report from the Erikson Institute

To better understand parents' attitudes, beliefs, and concerns about technology use by children under 6, the Erikson Institute surveyed 1,000 parents across the Nation (mothers- 58%, Latino-23%, African American-13%, married or living with a partner-84%, employed FT/PT-68%). Results indicate that 90% of the parents surveyed use smartphones; 85% watch television; 66% use computers; and 47 % use tablets and e-readers. 86% of the parents surveyed declared to be satisfied with how they use technology with their young children in the home.
