Augmented Reality as a Navigation Tool to Employment Opportunities for Postsecondary Education Students With Intellectual Disabilities and Autism

This study compared the effectiveness of three navigation tools ( printed maps, Google Maps on a mobile device, and an AR navigation app on a mobile device) for college students with intellectual disabilities (IDs) or autsism spectrum disorder (ASD) to navigate unknown business locations. The three navigation tools produced noticeable differences; all students made more independent navigation decisions using the AR navigation tool.
