2015 NMC Horizon Report, K-12 Edition

Published in partnership with the Consortium for Schools Networking (CoSN) and with ISTE as dissemination partner, the 2015 NMC Horizon Report, K-12 Edition, focuses on trends in teaching and learning and how technological developments could impact them. The report, a technology planning guide for educators, school leaders, administrators and policymakers, identifies trends, significant challenges, and important developments in educational technology. Six identified trends are: Rethinking How Schools Work and Shift to Deeper Learning Approaches; Increasing Use of Collaborative Learning Approaches and Shift from Students as Consumers to Creators; Increasing Use of Blended Learning and Rise of STEAM Learning. Challenges focus on the implementation of Personalized Learning and Teacher Education. Important developments include BYOD, Wearable Technologies and 3-D printing.
