A Special Kind of Class

Blogger Amanda Myers has been teaching at a hospital school for 25 years, where she has worked with children who have speech or physical disabilities. When she found out she could not pinpoint a reliable existing strategy to assess her non-verbal students’ reading levels, she set out to conduct research on the topic. On her blog she shares her research findings as well as files that will help other teachers who want to implement similar techniques in their classrooms. Topics vary widely; currently she is offering a series of three posts on Guided Reading. Topics include all academic areas and range from low tech to high tech. She offers practical examples of solutions that have worked for her students in all areas. She also has links to other sources of information and a Facebook page as well. This blog is valuable as a parent or teacher resource. http://aspecialkindofclass.blogspot.com/
