Assistive Technology: Questions to Ask Colleges

This checklist, published by The National Center for Learning Disabilities, concerns the availability of assistive technology on college campuses and the procedure by which an incoming student is determined eligible. Questions to consider include who acts as the coordinator between professors and the disability office, what training is offered to students, where AT tools are located on campus, and whether or not the school maintains and repairs the devices. A student may easily print and take this sheet to a college admissions office to gain information about their options.
