The iPad and Autism: Learning Tool, Toy – or Both?

With more than 67 million iPads sold in the U.S., the device is having a real impact on the lives of many, including children and youth with disabilities. Vina Sargent of the Lakeside Center for Autism in Seattle shares the LCA’s experience in using iPad apps with children at the center. She identifies apps with which they’ve had widespread success and discusses the needs of family members in supporting their children’s use of the device.
